Overview

This customer partnered with Walker & Munns to strengthen and modernise their technology environment. Their aim was to adopt a centralised, secure, and future‑ready platform that could support their team’s day‑to‑day operations and continued growth.

 

Following an in‑depth consultation, we developed a transformation plan focused on enhanced security, streamlined collaboration, and robust data protection.

Objectives

The project set out to:

  • Implement Microsoft 365 as the unified platform for identity, collaboration, and file access.
  • Create a structured, secure workspace through SharePoint and Teams.
  • Assess the relevance of existing systems.
  • Introduce a secure cloud backup and restore solution for Microsoft 365.
  • Provide training and configuration support during the transition.

What We Delivered

1. Microsoft 365 Modernisation

They now use Microsoft 365 to its full potential, as their central Identity & Access Management system. Their team can work seamlessly using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaborate through SharePoint, Teams, or synced folders, all supported by appropriate licensing aligned to their operational needs.

2. SharePoint & Teams

We deployed a structured SharePoint environment supported by corresponding Teams channels. This provided:

  • Clear, secure file organisation.
  • A single, consistent collaboration platform.
  • Improved internal communication and workflow efficiency.

OneDrive was also rolled out to support secure personal file storage.

3. Secure Cloud Backup & Restore Solution

To strengthen data resilience across Microsoft 365, we implemented a secure cloud backup and restore solution offering:

  • Fast, reliable data restoration when needed
  • Daily and weekly backups
  • Automated lifecycle management to keep storage optimised

This ensures that the business can quickly recover important data with confidence.

4. Domain Security

To reduce phishing attempts we configured the SPF, DMARC, and DKIM. These items are the foundation of email security and authentication and protect the brand from phishing emails, and comply with Microsoft’s and Google’s email security expectations.

5. Support & Requests During Delivery

Throughout the rollout, we worked closely with the customers’ team to support their transition to the new environment. This included:

  • Providing guides and training on using the new backup and restore solution.
  • Helping team members set up multi‑factor authentication.
  • Offering training on shared mailboxes and support for mobile Outlook configuration.
  • Migrating additional data from legacy hardware when requested.
  • Setting up automated backup reports to provide ongoing visibility.

Our approach ensured a smooth, well‑supported adoption of their upgraded systems.

The project successfully modernised the customer’s digital operations and created a secure, streamlined environment for their team. With Microsoft 365 at the core, structured SharePoint and Teams collaboration, and a strong cloud‑based backup and restore capability, the business now benefits from:
